Who we are

Long Range, with facilities in in Redmond, WA, USA and Alpnachstad, Switzerland was the first company to certify winglets for transport category aircraft, specifically, the Boeing 727. These have been in successful operation for many years and continue to provide fuel savings and performance improvements to our many VIP clients. QWA also designed and certified Stage III hush kits, cockpit security doors, Performance Improvement Systems (payload/range) as well as Auxiliary Fuel Tank Modifications. We are also the first company to certify a new flammability system that meets the latest regulations without the use of complicated inert gas generating systems.

Long Range has established a track record in auxiliary fuel tank design and structural modifications and certification, with the supply of SFAR 88 kits and complete auxiliary fuel tank systems. We have installed and certified systems on B727, B737, B757, B767 and CL600 series aircraft including modifications to the original Rogerson and PATS auxiliary fuel tanks to bring them into compliance with the SFAR 88 regulations. Our core strength is innovative designs, certified to the most current aviation regulations and working directly with VVIP clients worldwide to provide them with exceptional service and support.

Unlike other system suppliers, our designs and parts are all engineered by Long Range. We own all of the design rights, drawings, documentation, qual testing and certifications. This allows us too quickly and cost effectively make changes and modifications to meet unique customer requirements. Additionally, as we are solely a design, certification and fabrication house we do not compete at the MRO level. We work closely with the MRO charged with the installation and can provide onsite support, technical guidance and provide on the spot engineering changes to accommodate issues that come up during the install.

Long Range has a core of dedicated aerospace professionals who have been providing solutions to aerodynamic, payload and range issues on aircraft for more than 25 years. Our technical expertise includes mechanical and electrical design, Solid Works CAD system, NASTRAN stress and loads analysis, a full complement of FAA certified DER’s with expertise in fuels, propulsion, loads, electrical, stress, aerodynamics etc.
